Lightning protection system inspection – what is checked?

Short answer: Inspection includes examination and checks of systems for protection against atmospheric discharges and static charge induced by atmospheric phenomena. It is very important to identify all elements of the lightning protection installation and determine whether there are other conductive elements through which lightning current may be expected to flow (gutters, antenna masts, fences, stairs, facade elements, etc.). In addition, devices for protection against atmospheric overvoltages are inspected where they exist on the building.
